Ph.D. Thomas Wow is a graduate of the Medical University of Warsaw and a resident physician specializing in plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery. His particular area of interest is breast surgery, including oncoplastic and reconstructive surgery. He also performs breast ultrasound diagnostics—having completed the Roztocze School of Ultrasound and holding a certificate from the Polish Ultrasound Society in breast ultrasound. He is a member of the Polish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery.

His doctoral dissertation focused on the use of modern biomaterials in oncoplastic surgery for breast cancer patients. Dr. Thomas Wow is also actively engaged in research, authoring and co-authoring publications concerning, among other things, breast surgery, breast reconstruction, molecular and inflammatory markers, and triple-negative breast cancer. He has expanded his professional experience through internships in Poland and abroad, including in Düsseldorf, Tel Aviv, Amman, Paris, Rome, Kyiv, and Moscow.

Education

Ph.D. Thomas Wow is a graduate of the Medical University of Warsaw, where he completed his medical studies. He holds a Ph.D. in medical sciences and health sciences within the discipline of medical sciences, having obtained his academic degree in 2023. He furthered his diagnostic competencies at the Roztocze School of Ultrasound. He regularly participates in national and international conferences, training sessions, and internships, continually expanding his knowledge and developing his competencies in breast surgery and ultrasound diagnostics.

Certificates / Courses / Training

Ph.D. Thomas Wow systematically develops his knowledge and skills by participating in national and international conferences, courses, and training sessions in the fields of breast surgery, plastic surgery, and ultrasound diagnostics. He has obtained a certificate from the Polish Ultrasound Society confirming his qualifications to independently perform breast ultrasound examinations.

A Few Words About Me

From the beginning of my professional path, one of the most important areas of my interest has been breast surgery. I am particularly interested in the possibilities of combining oncological treatment with oncoplastic and reconstructive surgery, ensuring that we care not only for the treatment process itself, but also for the functional and aesthetic outcome. I dedicated my doctoral dissertation to this subject.

In my daily practice, I deal primarily with breast ultrasound diagnostics. I place great emphasis on the accuracy of the examination, careful assessment of every lesion, and providing a calm and clear explanation of the result to the patient. I believe that good diagnostics is not just about performing the examination itself, but also about outlining the next steps.

My professional and scientific interests constantly complement each other. On the one hand, I am developing my experience in plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery; on the other, I conduct research activities. I regularly participate in conferences and training sessions, and I take advantage of opportunities to gain experience in various centers in Poland and abroad.

In my work with patients, accuracy, an individual approach, and a sense of security are paramount to me. It is important to me that during the consultation, the patient not only receives her examination result, but also knows what it means and understands the potential next stages of management.
