Rhinoplasty as a way to get rid of the complexes

Rhinoplasty is a procedure aimed at changing the shape of the nose and improving its appearance. No wonder that first attempts have been made to improve it since ancient times. In Egyptian papyri from the 18th century B.C.E. there is information about nasal surgeries performed by priests. Indian records from the 7th-6th century BCE, while they talk about the reconstruction of the nose with fragments of skin from the forehead (the so-called “Indian flap” method is still used today).

Currently, plastic and reconstructive nasal surgery is one of the most popular treatments in the world and consists in restoring the aesthetic balance on the face.

PIEZO rhinoplasty means greater precision

The popularity of nasal plastic surgery stems from the size and shape of the nose, which plays a very important role in the overall aesthetics of the face. As a result of injuries or genetic conditions, the nose may not only disturb the proportions of the face, but also hinder everyday functioning. Fortunately, modern techniques of rhinoplasty come to the rescue. One of them is the PIEZO nose surgery, i.e., a procedure with the use of ultrasound. This innovative method is a way of precise and non-invasive nose correction, gentle cutting and bone reshaping. Thanks to the progress in the field of medicine, it is possible to meticulously change the appearance of the nasal bones while protecting the surrounding soft tissue. The great advantage of PIEZO nose surgery is less bleeding, swelling and a shorter recovery time. So PIEZO nose surgery comes in handy when changing its shape!

indications

Indications

The nasal plastic surgery offer is performed most often in order to improve the patient’s appearance, well-being and psychological comfort. It is also recommended for people who would like to eliminate all kinds of defects and deformations of the nose – both congenital and acquired, e.g., as a result of an accident, impact or other injuries. Health problems, most often related to breathing, are also an indication for the procedure.

Also, if you want to:

  • straighten a crooked nose,
  • solve breathing problems (caused by problems with the formation of the nasal septum),
  • safe way to get rid of defects related to deformation of the nose,
  • do not worry about complications after the procedure,

and also, you care about safety during the procedure, nose correction in Warsaw is a solution that will help solve the problem.

The procedure

Before starting the procedure, you should go to a medical consultation. Rhinoplasty is one of the most complicated plastic surgeries. The nasal passages are very delicate and the nose is small. The human nose consists mainly of the external nose (made of cartilage, bones covered with a layer of muscles – it has a root, back, tip and wings) and the nasal cavity (located in the skull).

So an experienced plastic surgeon is needed to change or correct the nose and get a natural look. Therefore, before the surgery, the surgeon will discuss with the patient his medical history and current state of health (including whether the patient is snoring). He will ask about the medications taken, allergies, check the nasal cavity with a speculum if breathing is not obstructed. Then he will refer the patient for tests and assess the possibility of changes, discuss the procedure and describe the possible results.

Two weeks before the procedure, the patient should stop smoking, not drink alcohol, stop taking medications to prevent blood clotting and sunbathe. The procedure should not be performed during menstrual bleeding.

Rhinoplasty is always performed under local anaesthesia or under full anaesthesia (the decision to use anaesthesia depends primarily on the scope of the surgery and whether it will be performed with bone tissue intervention). There are two operating techniques – the so-called closed and open.

The “open” method involves cutting the nose post. It provides better access to the operating field and the surgeon has more possibilities. The “closed” method is performed through the nostrils. The duration of nasal plastic surgery depends on many factors. In the case of the primary procedure, in a patient not burdened with serious comorbidities, the average duration of the procedure ranges from 1 to 3 hours on average, with the complete nose correction taking the longest time. Procedures involving only the cartilage part of the nose are the shortest, while procedures interfering with individual structures of the bone scaffolding last longer.

PIEZO ultrasound rhinoplasty is performed according to the principles of “open” rhinoplasty. The doctor carefully inspects the bone, positions it, smoothes it and corrects it to the desired shape. Using the PIEZO device, it is practically “sculpted” in the bones of the nose and shaped as necessary. A specialist can also make the bones thinner without breaking them.

After nose surgery - recommendations

After surgery, the patient remains in the hospital for at least one night and should rest with his head held high. The dressing remains for 8-10 days, while the tampons from the nasal passages are removed after 48-72 hours. Swelling and bruising around the nose and eyes last up to four weeks, and you can use cold compresses. In the first week after surgery, the patient may have difficulty breathing through the nose.

During the first few days after the procedure, avoid eating hot, hard and spicy foods (they increase the risk of nosebleeds), situations that may lead to injuries, straining, and sleeping on your side (for about 6 weeks, it is recommended to sit on your back with pillows under your head. ) and saunas, sun, solarium (for 4 weeks).

Advantages of nasal plastic surgery

The method of improving the aesthetic appearance of the nose has many advantages. Some of the most important are, for example:

  • Durability and effectiveness – nasal plastic surgery is the most effective and durable procedure, which allows you to obtain results for a very long time. The results of the surgery are permanent, and the first visible changes appear right after the dressings are removed and the swelling has disappeared.
  • Comfort and confidence – nose correction guarantees improvement of self-esteem and getting rid of complexes.
  • Individual pain threshold – even people with sensitive skin should not be afraid of nose correction surgery. The procedure is performed under anaesthesia and the effects are visible as soon as the swelling has subsided.

Nose surgery allows for an aesthetic change in appearance. Rhinoplasty is usually recommended for people whose nose is disproportionate to the face and spoils its appearance. If the nose is crooked, humped or too wide, the bone part is corrected. You can also improve the appearance of the very tip of the nose (the cartilage).

Blockage in the nose is also a common problem, which causes breathing problems. Then, aesthetic corrections are made with the straightening of the nasal septum (the curved septum contributes to breathing disorders and impaired nasal patency). In this case, the septum straightening procedure is performed, which significantly improves the patient’s comfort. Usually, however, the so-called total correction, i.e., a combination of all the above-mentioned elements.

PIEZO rhinoplasty means less bleeding, bruising and swelling for the patient. Since the doctor performs the procedure with greater precision than in the case of classic techniques with a chisel, he also guarantees fully satisfactory results in the form of a significant smoothing of the surface of the cut bones and a small number of fragments produced. What’s more, the effects of this technique can be appreciated by every patient after qualifying for the procedure.

The effects

A certain idea of the effect already exists before the procedure – its course is determined in advance with the doctor, in addition, many specialists perform graphic simulations showing the effect after plastic surgery.

The time needed to normalize the shape of the nose is estimated at twelve months, the reasons for such a long healing process are extremely numerous. Some changes are visible immediately, and others have to be waited for. We are talking about situations that can cause anxiety in the patient, but are a completely normal processes related to rhinoplasty. Immediately after it, the following may occur:

  • swelling of facial tissues, especially around the eyelids,
  • bruising around the eyes (passes after about 10 days),
  • bleeding from the nose (it is believed that the patient should not worry about the third day after the operation).

In order to achieve the best possible result, certain recommendations should be followed. In the first stage, the patient should not smile too much, it is rather not recommended to blow the nose (it may feel blocked temporarily, but usually it does not exceed a week).

The selection of clothes is also important not to expose the corrected tissue, it is better to put on clothes with buttons than the one pulled over the head. You should not wear glasses for about a month after the operation. You should also avoid practicing sports where your nose could be injured.

Rhinoplasty is not only a solution that allows you to change the appearance visually, but above all it is a solution to health problems.
